Dennis began his career in the Higher-Education Information Technology sector after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami Florida and while attending graduate school at Nova Southeastern University’s Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences in Fort Lauderdale Florida. As a graduate student, Dennis was recruited to join Nova Southeastern University’s Office of Information Technologies where he administered systems from the industry’s most technologically advanced server, storage, networking equipment, and enterprise class software from major vendors such as Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, HP, IBM, EMC, Legato, Citrix, and Dell. In addition to working with commercial vendors, Dennis designed, implemented, and maintained Open Source based systems that provided tremendous technology cost savings.
Dennis strives to discover new efficiencies through employing new innovative technologies in order to improve work-flows, reduce operational costs, and provide new capabilities and tools that provide better value and service to the enterprise.
Also, Dennis drafted and implemented new technology management procedures and service standards to help ensure that his entire team was able to consistently provide and maintain a high-level of service excellence. Always looking to improve upon the level of service and technologies offered by his department, Dennis work collaboratively with his staff on a weekly basis to find new ways of improving existing procedures and look for new innovative technologies in order provide more value, drive down technology costs, and elevate the level of service.
Holding a graduate degree in Computer Science, in his spare time Dennis gives back to the community to help prepare the next generation of technology professionals by teaching computing sciences and information technology courses delivered in both traditional ground based and online formats where he has the opportunity and great privilege to work with a mixture of young and mature students.
